Xinjiang Isn’t a Genocide. It’s a Smear Campaign.

If the U.S. cared about Muslims, it wouldn’t have bombed seven Muslim countries.

Washington and its media mouthpieces want us to believe that the biggest threat to Muslims is China. Let’s get one thing straight: there is no genocide in Xinjiang. There is no mass extermination. There are no concentration camps. These are lies, carefully manufactured by U.S.-funded think tanks, exile organizations, and cold war propaganda outlets like Radio Free Asia.
What is happening in Xinjiang is far more complex—and far less useful for the empire’s narrative. In the early 2000s, Xinjiang suffered a wave of terrorist attacks, carried out by separatist groups, some linked to Al Qaeda and trained in Syria. Over 800 people were killed. China responded with a counter-extremism campaign—one that focused not just on policing, but poverty reduction, education, and economic development.
Millions were lifted out of poverty. Infrastructure was built. Schools, hospitals, and bilingual education expanded. Vocational training centers were created—yes, some compulsory, but overwhelmingly aimed at re-integrating people who had been pulled into radical Islamist networks. By 2020, not a single terrorist attack had occurred in Xinjiang for over three years.
That’s not genocide. That’s counterterrorism through development. The U.S. doesn’t care. Because this isn’t about Muslims. It’s about China. It’s about containing a rising socialist state that won’t obey U.S. hegemony, the hypocrisy is stunning.
Where was this outrage when U.S. drones hit weddings in Pakistan? When Israeli bombs fell on Gaza’s children? When India imposed military rule on Kashmir? When France banned the hijab?
The truth is, the “Uyghur genocide” narrative is a geopolitical weapon—used to manufacture consent for sanctions, decoupling, and even war. It has nothing to do with liberation, and everything to do with empire. If you care about Muslims, fight Islamophobia in your own country. Fight sanctions. Fight war. But don’t let your empathy be used as a Trojan horse for imperial aggression. Xinjiang is not a victim of genocide. It’s a victim of lies.
Why are communists like you so quick to defend China and their treatment of the Uyghurs when the inhumane treatment of them has been proven true? "If the U.S. cared about Muslims, it wouldn’t have bombed seven Muslim countries." This can literally be used to fit you. If you cared about the Uyghurs so much, you'd call it what it is.
